Wreckers Beach

Just near campsite at Wreckers Beach
We sort of stumbled into this area after a wrong turn on an unsealed road and ended up in this part of KI – the Southern area of the Island: D'Estrees Bay
Many campsites run off the road and are easily missed if you are not watching out for them. We stopped at Wreckers Beach which had no facilities, and a small designated camp site. This had no shade, but low lying vegetation. A small path led to the Bay. On the way there, we saw a couple of more ideal camping spots. They may not have been designated for camping but a small tent could easily be set up right on the beach.
This campground was not suitable for anyone but tent based campers.
The beach in this immediate area, was rocky and full of seaweed. It was not a beach that appealed to anyone in the family for swimming or lingering too long.
Would not recommend this location for families - might suit a couple or anyone wanting just total isolation.
